First; The Details
Whomever cares more about a certain detail gets the final say on that particular decision. Make a list scale it from 1 to 5 as a start.
Simple and it will let you see where each of you lands on subjects
Second; Guest List
Any Guest List Drama is settled or handled by the side that possibly began it. Not both of you. This means if grooms family doesn’t understand why 175 3rd & 4th cousins can’t be invited the groom shall take the lead on explaining this issue.
Third; Budgets
Budgets get set 1st. Before any single decisions begin.
A lot of us would like a royal wedding but as we know this is not truly feasible for many brides and grooms.
Fourth; Family Opinions
Family opinions may be welcome and even though they may be providing the budgetary concerns this is Your Wedding Day.
Fifth; Love & Stress
Protect the Love. If planning stress starts to compile protect your relationship at all cost. Conflict resolution. This may be the best day so far in your lives but it is still just one D A Y. There will be so many more.
Sixth; Decision Making
If one of you is not being heard on a decision say so-this is the point for discussion not future resentment. Not after the wedding. Open the communication & keep it open. The groom really wants taco truck at the end of the night, gently discuss it and uncover if it’s something he has wanted since 9th grade. Then fit it in with concessions. We can have the Taco Truck but we won’t be able to do the Limo whisking us away to the hotel.
